Ithaca, New York – The Rotary Club of Ithaca is proud to introduce seven new members who have joined the service club during the last quarter. Members of this community bring professional experience from the business sector and the non-profit sector; many volunteers in Tompkins County. Ithaca Rotary’s motto is “Service Above Self.” Membership is open to all members of the community who have the same beliefs; New members are accepted throughout the year.

Shannon Albanese – Shannon lived in Ithaca as a child, then moved with her family to San Diego. After attending Mesa Junior College there, he returned to Ithaca in 1980, working in interior design. She now works in financial consulting for the Tompkins Trust Company and serves on the board of the Women’s Community Center. Shannon is a registered investment advisor with Series 7 and Series 63 licenses. He lives in Trumansburg with his son.

Carl Carvill – Major Carl is the new commander of the Salvation Army in Ithaca, and has dedicated himself to a life of service. A native of Lewiston, Maine, Carl earned a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s in theological studies. He is currently completing his doctoral dissertation. He and his wife have three grown children, and have served the Salvation Army in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Hampshire, New York City, and are now happy in Ithaca.

Grace Dalton – Grace is currently the branch manager of the HSBC office on North Triphammer Road. He has been with HSBC for ten years, starting as a part-time teller. Grace came from Elmira, and studied at Elmira College after getting an associate degree from Corning Community College. He likes writing poems and short stories, and lives in Elmira Heights with his fiancĂ©e and his two children.

Eric Harrington – Eric is the director of occupational health and the environment for the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell. In that role, he addresses the occupational health and safety needs of teaching staff, staff and students; and also the management of the tertiary agricultural and greenhouse environments. Eric lives in Groton, where he grew up, with his wife and son. He is chairman of the Groton Education Fund, a member of the steering committee for Cortland YMCA, nest leader for Groton Webelo Scouts, and serves on several Scout committees.

Richard Hendrick – Richard is a financial consultant, providing years of experience and tools to increase profits and cash flow. He has previous experience as a controller and treasurer for publicly listed international manufacturers and as a CPA and management consultant. He obtained a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College and completed his MBA work at Temple University and the University of Houston. He is a business coach at Alternatives Federal Credit Union and Cornell Business Startup Boot Camp.

Randy Reed – Randy is currently an advisor to Miller Mayer LLP, where he concentrates on the practice of intellectual property law, patents, trademarks, copyrights, and unfair competition. He is a registered patent attorney and is treated in law practice in New York and California. Originally from Norwich, NY, Randy and his wife Peggy moved here from California in 2004 when Randy became an internal advisor to Transonic Systems. Prior to California, they lived in Rouses Point, NY, where Randy was a member of the Plattsburgh AM Rotary Club.

Paul Tatar – A native of Rhinebeck, NY, Paul received a bachelor’s degree in education from SUNY-Brockport and a bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College. He is a retired elementary school teacher in the Ithaca School District,
